About
Kiya Sakaris is a pre-marital, pre-family and family coach that works with those planning on getting married, those who are getting ready to have a family and those who need support within their family. Kiya knew she wanted to work with people from a very young age, when people whom she did not know would stop her and tell her their dilemmas. She is fascinated with the relationship aspect of couples. “Everyone is completely different. That is what makes my job so fun and interesting!” When Kiya looked into the coaching profession; she had no doubt that this was what she wanted to pursue. “I wanted to focus on helping people become the best they could be." After continuing schooling in the coaching area, she went on to get her credential. She opened her business in 2004 and concentrated on bringing couples closer together. Kiya says, “My clients love the fun exercises we do and the tools we use to open communication.”
Kiya did extensive research on the realities of marriage and found numerous ways to improve any relationship. She covers all aspects, working things out from one side of the spectrum to the other. “We first meet together for an intake, which is approximately 2 hours in which I find out everything about you and your mate. Everything is confidential and most importantly without judgment. I will give you a binder with loads of information and some books so that you can always refer to them and I will always be on call if something comes up. I am like your little support system that you can always carry around in your pocket.
After our intake, we will start our sessions. Each session is 45 minutes long, each week and full of breakthroughs. You will both think in a different manner once our sessions are complete. We talk about pre-marital issues such as money, friends, careers, relatives, health, children, lifestyles, jealousy, religion, intimacy, emotions, travel, friends, personality traits, arguments, addictions, communication or whatever you bring to the table. Every couple that I have has their own custom fit plan. Everyone is beautiful in a variety of areas and it is my job to bring those areas out within them. Every couple has areas that inhibit their being and I am the one that shows them how to create alternatives so they can not be burdened by them.” With majors in Metaphysics and Theology, Kiya is currently working towards her Ph.D. She also writes a monthly advice column for a popular wedding magazine, Sacramento Bride and Groom. Kiya offers speaking presentations, teaches classes, and administers workshops within the Western United States.
